Struggling with weight issues?

Gluttony is a sin. It’s one of the seven deadly sins. Deadly means it kills us. It kills us spiritually and in the case of gluttony it kills us physically too!

Their end is destruction, their god is in their bellies” Philippians 3:19

Paul is giving us a clue to weight loss right here. Gluttony is a demon. Christians don’t blame demons enough; if they did they’d no longer be lukewarm because they would be taking authority over demons and casting them out of themselves and others. They pull wool over our eyes and convince us we are OK. The point to others and tell us look at them, you are not as bad as them until you ARE them. Then they tell you it’s your fault and you fall for it hook, line and sinker.

The key to weight loss for me is eat like Daniel did supplemented by intermittent fasting. A plant-based diet lowers cholesterol, blood pressure and staves off cancer and type 2 diabetes. intermittent fasting gives you the ability to connect with God better. I heard a pastor say that fasting should be part of the Christian life because we can hear God’s voice better on our bellies aren’t full.

Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit! It’s His house too! God’s telling me I should take care of it like it’s my church….because it is. I asked the Holy Spirit to remind me of this as I eat so that I don’t eat too much. He has also stopped me on the way to the kitchen. Glory to God the scale is heading in the right direction and I am saving money at the same time. Try it! Get God involved in your weight loss. I will let you know if it works for me and please let me know if it works for you.

Using food for boredom or satisfaction instead of God will not bring peace. In Him, alone, is true joy.

Lastly, talk to your spiritual accountability person about this and ask them to hold you accountable. Ask God to bless you with self control. Good fathers give great gifts! Trust Jesus.
