I’m going to be honest, this is a new way of life for me. I hated life. I liked work because of the validation that I received there, but when I left work was when the life I hated kicked in. After my ex husband left and social distancing due to Covid kicked in, God was all I wanted. After going through Cleansing Stream, deliverance, and the I had to change Bible study I was a new person. I will talk about those later.
God had my attention.
How is my life different now? When I get off work now, it’s a joy. I get to spend time with someone really amazing. He’s smart and loving and His words to me are always true. I am cognizant that He is very powerful, but that’s pretty awesome too.
Why Spirit-led?
Jesus said my sheep listen to my voice; they know me and they follow me. You can live this life without being led by the spirit but it’s you not himYou can live this life without being led by the spirit but it’s you not Him in control. Jesus said my sheep know me. In John 10:27, the word listen in Greek is akouousin and means give audience to. If you’re not at his feet you can’t give audience to Him. The word follow can also be translated reach. Do you want to reach God?
Favor is showered on those who are led by the Spirit.
Just like earthly parents show favor and their children when they obey them, so God favors the children that walk in obedience. We can live this life in our own power but walking in the center of God‘s will for your life is much more rewarding.
Quiet time is God time.
If you really want to know someone, you spend more than 15 minutes with them. You spend hours with them every day. Imagine if you spent only 15 minutes per day with a human spouse or fiancé. That wouldn’t work at all. They wouldn’t tell you any of their secrets or do special things for you. It’s the same way with God. The deeper in Him you go the more He reveals to you. It’s definitely not wasted time; it’s the good stuff. You learn His voice so that when you are in difficult situations He has easy access to you to help you and guide you through the situation. It definitely beats trying to figure out everything in your own power.
