They say that time heals all wounds. I don’t think that’s true. I think that some just fester, get infected and scab over. in the case of physical abuse, it doesn’t even scab over. Oh it’s an open wound that can stay open indefinitely.
50 years ago the world was a much different place. Many things didn’t get reported and people just kept quiet about a lot. Today it is different. Still today, in dysfunctional families, you keep your mouth shut. Secrets are the norm because if people knew they wouldn’t like you.
The children grow up and they move away and hope everything will get better. Wounds have to be healed. Unresolved issues can interfere with the life you plan. At some point you have to make changes. Therapy helps with that, but without Jesus transformation is slow. God can accelerate healing, but He has to be invited into the process.
I know I had to change and asked God for help. He answered in a huge way. He connected me to the right fellowship of believers who offered Cleansing Stream classes taught by an amazing woman who has a heart bigger than Texas. I became so close with God.Then he gave me the right neighbor and she became my friend and invited me to a Bible study called I had to change. Some people might’ve been offended by the title, but I was ready and this course broke the chains of the past. The author delivers what the cover of the book promises with candor, transparency and experience.
Unresolved emotions are like water in a tea kettle; life is the flame underneath that kettle.
Jesus is the great healer and He wants you to recover from whatever you experienced. For me it took a team of ladies plus the Holy Spirit to get me delivered and healed.
