In love with the Holy Spirit

When we meet the Holy Spirit something crazy happens in us. We meet God’s love in the person of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is way better than most churches give Him credit for. He is beautiful beyond what words can describe even.

Did you know the Holy Spirit is crazy in love with you? God loves us completely and unconditionally even when we wound him with our words and actions. He still pursues us and chases us down wherever we are he’s that crazy about us. In Greek there are several words for love and we miss out on the different meanings of the word. Brotherly love is Philleo like Philadelphia- the city of brotherly love. Eros is the love between spouses. Agape is an unconditional, infinite love and that is how God loves us!

The Holy Spirit will rock your world.

Maybe you’ve gone to church for years, you may have even taught Sunday school, paid your tithe (We’ll talk about that next time) but you’ve never personally encountered the Holy Spirit and had a radical transformation.

Get ready for the love of your life who will never abandon you.

We just celebrated Easter, but as you know Easter isn’t about a bunny. It’s about a lamb. Jesus came to this earth to offer himself as a sacrificial lamb to pay for your sins. He opened his arms wide to show his love as they nailed him on the cross. He could’ve called 10,000 angels and they would’ve rescued him, but then we would have been without a Savior.

You are the object of his adoration even though you have broken all of the Commandments in thought or in action. If you died, God would have to punish you according to those actions because he’s a just God. You are in grave danger, but fortunately there is a way for you to pay the price for your sin. The mercy of God is that he sent Jesus to pay that penalty for you.

Talk to God. Ask him to forgive everything. List as much as you can think of and then ask him to forgive everything you can’t think of. Thank him for dying on the cross for your sins and tell him out loud that from now on he is your Lord and Savior from your heart and soul. Repent means to turn away from sin. On our own we can’t do that but with God’s help we can. Ask him for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Ask him to fill you with the Holy Spirit to the point it overflows onto others.

If you just did that, congratulations you’re a part of the family of God. Find a local community of believers that you can grow with. It doesn’t have to be a church on the corner even. Ask him to guide you in finding the right group of people to worship with.

God loves you so much.
