I have been in this season of discovery. God’s been showing me just how far we have strayed from the gospel that was brought here 2000 years ago.
TV, radio, music, internet and apps are so filled with ungodly topics, images and vocabulary that it is hard for any Christian to find content anywhere but Christian media. But that has been polluted too. Christian TV is so filled with false teachers I can barely stand to watch it. About the only place I stomach to watch TV is https://www.pureflix.com/.
The polluted gospel is on Christian radio too. I really have to select carefully the stations I listen to, the podcasts I listen to and the people that I follow.
You would think the Bible reading app would be OK. When I discovered a youversion plan teacher was not okay it started me down a path of sad discovery. That was the tip of the iceberg. The youversion has some great content but I found I have to be careful so I don’t absorb that bad content. I was going to start a plan this morning on Jude. The theme of Jude is beware of fakes and I found it was coincidently taught by a faker! I found another one that I thought might be good but I checked out the teacher and he’s a faker too. Anyone who preaches Grace without repentance preaches the gospel different than what Jesus taught he healed people and then he said go and sin no more.
Christians can’t remain in sin; the Holy Spirit convicts of sin.
I have to consider the youversion like the internet and carefully examine the teacher before I listen to any of their plans. Even the Bible section is polluted with translations that are not translations like the message and the passion translation which really isn’t a translation it’s an interpretation.
In the future I’ll be using other apps like through the word and Bible hub. Please drop in the comments any app that you find valuable that you would like me to evaluate.
