Walking with God is the best way to get rich quick. I’m not talking money rich, but real riches. Money is just paper and metal, but real riches are the things that paper and metal can’t buy. They can’t buy you peace, joy or happiness. How do you get those riches?
Walk with God!
Leaning on Him for understanding and guidance in your everyday life is the best way to abundant living. Want love, joy and peace? Walk with Jesus. How about patience, kindness and goodness? Walk with Jesus. That is the source of true riches, beauty and wisdom.
15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. Ephesian 5:15-17 If we ask God to show us what His will for our life is, He will honor that prayer and let you in on the plans that He wants to accomplish with and through you. How God speaks to us:
- Through His Word when we are reading the Bible or hearing it preached. Hebrews 4:12 For the Word of God is living and active.
- Through the still small voice of the Holy Spirit John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, who the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. We also hear the still small voice when we pray. He’ll give us a word or phrase about what’s next for us.
- Through dreams – there are dozens of verses in the Bible about this in Mat 2:12 the wise men were warned in a dream not to return to Herod. In the next verse, Joseph is warned in a dream to flee with his family to Egypt.
- Through other believers – Iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17
- Through circumstances He can make His way known. He closes doors and opens new ones.
Let’s face this fact: if we are not reading His word, gathering with other believers, or praying we are out of fellowship with God.
Let’s not be carnal Christians. Let’s be the type of believer that exudes the gifts of the Spirit.
Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness. 1 Peter 2:2-3
Milk is when someone else feeds you spiritual truths-like a pastor or a Sunday school teacher or myself. Let’s not stay on that diet forever; let’s move to a diet of spiritual meat. That’s where YOU go digging God’s word to find spiritual truths for yourself.
This message may offend some of you, but if the slipper fits, wear it! God disciplines those He loves. Go to God with it and ask him to change you. I’ve done this, because without Him I basically ….don’t measure up to who I want to be.
