17The story of what happened spread quickly all through Ephesus, to Jews and Greeks alike. A solemn fear descended on the city, and the name of the Lord Jesus was greatly honored. 18Many who became believers confessed their sinful practices. 19A number of them who had been practicing sorcery brought their incantation books and burned them at a public bonfire. The value of the books was several million dollars.c 20So the message about the Lord spread widely and had a powerful effect.

Holy fear hit Ephesus and people threw away millions of dollars. Burned it up. When I started following the Lord, I had a holy purge of the things that did not honor him. No one had to tell me to do it because I had the Holy Spirit prompting me. I had many things not honoring God because I was a citizen of the world and proud of it. All that is rubbish now. Below is the list.
- Most all of my secular music CDs
- About a quarter of my DVD collection
- Everything yoga: dvds, eye/palm/elephant labeled equipment and chakra beads, lotus flower fountain
- Angels (that appeared as kids) ornaments and new age books
- House decor from Africa and Japan.
- Several pairs of dream catcher earrings
- Books by false teachers.
- Photos of past relationships
- A Quran
Looking at the list I can see I looked more like the world than I realized I was spiritually blind. I was blind but now I see. It was grace that brought me here so far grace set me free.
Praise be to God.
The list didn’t add up to millions of dollars, but there were some spiritual battles to fight as I let go the world and embraced holiness. I didn’t do it all at once either. It was over the course of months. One item was brand new, but it was trash compared to knowing Christ.
Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ.

Dear precious reader, nothing you have in your house compares to the splendor of a relationship with Jesus. His love is for here and now! You don’t have to wait for heaven!
Turn from sin. Ask Jesus to forgive you for following your false gods whether it be Allah or Krishna or Buddha. They don’t answer your prayers so turn to the one who can – Jesus.
Don’t believe the nonsense that Christians worship 3 gods. It’s a lie from the fiery pit. One God! Jesus = Father = Holy Spirit. Just like I am Janet=Mom=Sister. I’m just one Janet. Christians worship one God.
You’ve been lied to like I was. These false gods didn’t change my life. Mohammed, Buddha and Krishna are dead to me because the LIVING God – Jesus rescued me. He changed me and set me free. He healed me from a painful past and gave me inner peace.
Praise God.
Jesus said “I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the father but by me.” The mystery of the trinity isn’t so hard. It’s not three Gods. God is omnipresent and that is the reason we see different displays of His glory. This same God who created everything came here and paid a price for you for you to be restored to Him in peace.
