So where is ET? Is he going to phone home? Does he even exist? Physicist Enrico Fermi explains it with the Rare Earth Theory. If there is a planet that could support intelligent beings, it would have to be in the habitable zone from its sun. If it’s too close they (all the ETs) would burn up; if it’s too far away they would freeze.
The planet would have to have and optimal day/night cycle and a large variety of elements to support life: carbon, nitrogen, iron, magnesium and phosphorus to name a few. Phosphorus only occurs from supernova explosions.
Then there is the Great Filter Theory.
An alien planet would benefit from a friend like Jupiter. Jupiter absorbs a lot of blows from space debris for the Earth. The great red spot on Jupiter is 2 times bigger than the earth and was once three times bigger than the Earth. Jupiter is massive. Because it’s so massive the gravitational pull absorbs a lot of the space junk for us. Thanks bro!!
Our beautiful white satellite, the moon, is also essential for our life. It helps stabilize our rotation on our axis and it also has to do with the tides levels of the oceans. Without the moon, we would not be here. Literally.
Then life has to last long enough to evolve without their planet being hit by asteroids and gamma radiation. These beings would have to develop to the point where they develop communication methods. What if they develop communication skills that work in a method that we can’t detect? Then we can’t see them and they can’t detect us either.
It’s a giant leap to believe ET is out there.
I think I’ll stick to creationism. I already like the Creator. The Bible explanation is below.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. Genesis 1:1-2
If ET ever showed up, I wouldn’t believe him. However I do think it’s possible for spiritual beings to masquerade as ET for nefarious purposes. If you look at Genesis chapter 6 he does talk about a race of angel human hybrids called nephilium who were larger in stature than we are.
I may have a science girl brain, but I think the Bible offers better explanations for everything always. A big shout out to all of its authors and especially to that beautiful Holy Spirit for inspiring the authors.
I could be wrong, but it’s a huge waste of money to spend billions upon billions of taxpayer dollars looking for what we can’t reach.
The life out there science movement contends a few bacterial cells can be defined as life. I’m okay with that if they apply the same standard to human life.
