There was a mom who had two sons, Billy and Bobby. Bobby was two years younger than Billy, but they still did many things together. Their favorite thing was to play on their game console.
Since Billy was the older brother he always won whatever they played. Bobby didn’t care if he lost. He thought his older brother was awesome and would talk about the game they played at school.
One of Bobby’s schoolmates said, “Oh, I play that. Come on over to my house and I’ll teach you all my tricks.” So, Bobby asked his mom if he could go to his school mate’s house for the weekend and she said yes.
Bobby’s school friend was very good at the game. As he played the game, he would teach Bobby how to improve his performance. Bobby was amazed at his friend’s skill. He was even better than his brother!
Sunday night, Bobby went back home and of course Billy wanted to play him. This time, Bobby won! The brother was so mad that he swiped at the game console and it fell off onto the floor and broke.
What should their parents do to teach Billy a lesson? Should they just ignore it and get a new one for them? Being a parent can sometimes be a hard job and you make mistakes but when it’s about something this big, both parents consult with each other and come up with a proper punishment.
They cannot let this action just slide because Billy would continue to act horrible every time he lost some thing. They did buy a new game console, but Billy couldn’t play it for a very long time. Billy also had to pay for the new console.
Billy suffered a long time because his parents wanted to teach him that the bad things you do not only hurt other people but they hurt you for a long time.
Loving parents punish bad behavior. God is our Heavenly Father and He has to punish bad behavior too because He loves us. A holy and loving God punish us unrepentant sinners. I wouldn’t want it any other way!
In the book of Revelation a lot of punishment goes on. Part of it is trying to get proud unbelievers’ attention. I know it took a lot for me to come to God, thankfully not everyone is that way! He also has to punish the people who hurt his children. He gives them a chance to repent, but if they don’t he will punish them because that’s what a loving parent does.
Even through all the events recorded as the seven seals, the seven trumpets, and the seven bowls of God’s wrath grace is still offered. A lot of the tribulation saints have been murdered by the Beast so for the first time in history God sends an angel to fly all over the earth with the gospel message and a call to be repent and be redeemed.
God’s grace is crazy good. Take the deal.
