Faith as a Mustard Seed

In the Greek, κόκκῳ σινάπεως. (To a grain of mustard) is a small black seed that grows invasively to a height of up to 10-15 feet! It can spread and take over an entire field. It can intertwine with other plants becoming thick like a small tree.

Our faith is like a seed which can grow (and it should) to advance the kingdom of God.

20He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”e

Matthew 17:20 ESV

I want this kind of faith to grow his kingdom and to move stubborn mountains. You start small and your with is strengthening as prayers are answered.

Our prayers become bigger and bolder as we grow in faith. We see those answered and we grow in expectations because our will isn’t ours any longer. Through the renewing of your mind in the word, we have gained godly desires and so we want what He wants. Of course he’s going to answer those prayers!

The Holy Spirit wants to invade your life like a mustard seed. He wants you to grow and provide comfort to others.

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

Romans 10:17 ESV

What this means is reading your Bible and hearing the Bible increases your faith. Want faith? Open your Bible.

If you implement the Bible before breakfast habit, you will at least get your day off to a good start! Bible reading yields faith. It’s a no brainer.
