“Take Me Back”

I’m watching “Sheep Among Wolves: Volume Two” on YouTube. I have many takeaways from this film. I hope you can check it out.

If you’re not crying in church because of what powerful things the Holy Spirit is doing at your church, there’s a problem.

Muhammed, apersecuted church leader in Iran

This hit me like a brick. How many dead churches have I been to? How long was I (spiritually) dead? According to this film, I’m a new believer in Christ. I’ve been going to church for over three decades but I’ve only been a real Christ-following believer a year and a half.

“Take me back to Iran.” This is what an Iranian believer pleaded with her husband. “There’s a Satanic lullaby here. All the Christians here are sleepy.” Vibrant Christian believers from other countries where the church is underground can see what we’re here can’t see: the church is sleeping to a Satanic lullaby.

Revelation chapter 3 talks about the church at Laodicea as being the sleepy, unsaved church. We are not constantly leaning on God. We live for ourselves. We care more about being happy than being holy. We live for comfort in this life and neglect the comfort in the next life. James tell us to examine ourselves to see whether or not we’re in the faith. If Jesus doesn’t change everything in our life, do we really know Him?

Do you have a love relationship with Jesus? Or is it a distant “only when I need Him” relationship? If I really love Him, I’m gonna go out and make disciples.

The command from Jesus was never invite people to church; we are the church. His command was go and make disciples. That means go. It means make disciples. Let’s do what Jesus did. Let’s make disciples one person at a time.

Jesus isn’t interested in living in buildings. We are the church and each of us are living stones of the body. Jesus said to Zacchaeus, “Hey, I’m coming to your house today.” He went.

Wake up, sleepy church, from your slumber and start following Jesus.

Lethargic Christianity is the biggest problem in the American church- not lack of freedom. If you don’t have someone to disciple you, please reach out to me. On the contact page there’s a form you can fill out and I’ll reach back to you.

Maranatha!
