If this were the last month of your life, what would your worship and giving be like? I recently re-watched an old video of soldiers in Iraq worshiping God with such passion. Every time I see that video, I think I need that. The soldiers in the video knew that it might be their last day and they were ready and right with God should that happen.
If this were my last month, how would I spend it? How would I love people as brothers and sisters? How would I pray and how would I worship God? Who would I call? Who would I share the good news of Jesus with?
The Lord can come at any moment. These could be our last moments. We don’t have to wait for the temple to be rebuilt for the rapture to occur. It can be rebuilt at any point during the first three and a half years of the tribulation.
Many people will be left behind. The next seven years will be horrible for them and many will not survive that. It’s better for them if they come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ right now. There are denominations that don’t teach faith by trust in Jesus. All the folks who were trusting in their good works will likely get left behind. God has called us to reach them. He doesn’t want for anyone to perish, but for everyone to find eternal life.
Don’t miss your opportunity, Christians. Everyone you come in contact with is your brother or sister in the human race. Find opportunities to share with them the great news that Jesus has accomplished everything necessary for their salvation. If we look at the people we come in contact with as potentially a person who will stand at the great white throne after judgment, our passion for soul winning will increase.
I’m not talking about throwing your pearls before swine, I’m talking about Spirit-led encounters resulting in a person asking Jesus to forgive their sins. Prayer is a big part of soul winning. Pray for opportunities and pray for receptive soil. Jesus loves the person that you cringe to see. He crazy loves them. I have found that when I start really praying a lot for a person, my love grows for that person and for people.
Want to see your life change? Make an honest list of the people you don’t like. Now, cross out the title and put “Prayer List” in its place. Use this list until you become a changed person. It doesn’t take long! For me it was very quick, but it’s okay if it takes a little bit longer for you.
Don’t wanna do this? You don’t have a choice! It’s a command, not a suggestion.
But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
-Jesus (Matthew 5:44)
Get writing that list! Keep a prayer journal so you can see easily what God has answered. (That’s a suggestion from me.)
I love you readers. I’m praying for you. Be blessed and let me know in the comments how this goes for you.
