The Ark Encounter in Williamstown Kentucky is worth going out of your way for. It’s an all day affair to go to the ark and you can even spend multiple days there. My friends and I spent a whole day there and we did not see it all. There are so many activities. I’ll share a little bit of what I experienced.
Ark Encounter is a family friendly theme park with reasonable prices on everything. I bought a hummus wrap for lunch and it was only about seven dollars. Souvenirs are also reasonable. When you arrive at the ark you pay a $10 parking fee. A bus shuttles you to the visitor center where there is a movie about the making of the ark. You are also given a schedule for the day’s talks and concerts.
When you enter the rainbow arch, you see the ark and it is massive, 150 yards long and 85 yards tall. There are three metal structures on the sides of it that house bathrooms. The ark is handicap accessible and has plenty of ramps and elevators. It also has scooters, wheelchairs, and strollers for rent.
There is a petting zoo, there is a 3-D theater, and there are multiple restaurants. There’s also an opportunity to zip line. More attractions are being added but there’s already a massive amount of things to do.
Christian apologist Ken Ham has created something that is so interesting that you will see everyone from Muslim to Mennonite there. You don’t have to worry about offensive content for your children or grandchildren.
Inside the ark, there’s a lot to take in and I didn’t even see it all. There are movies and animation displays. In the visitor center, there are talks and concerts.
I hope that I can go again someday. I left the ark a changed person. I got to shake hands with a man I have followed on YouTube for years. Ken Ham is a genius and I was thrilled to meet him. He is there at the ark four days a week. He even played the piano in a concert I attended!
Visit the ark. Spend all day if you can. The ark is more than theme park, it’s an educational place to have a spiritual encounter with God. You may just leave changed, yourself.
