The Real Enemy

In the USA, republicans say democrats are the enemy and democrats say that republicans are the enemy. They are both wrong!

Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Ephesians 6:12

Our enemy is unseen, but not unheard. We hear his voice on television, film and on the radio. He is the prince of the air waves. His party line is preached more than the gospel.

How can we stand against all the evil in this world? We can’t, but the Spirit can.

13Therefore take up the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you will be able to stand your ground, and having done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness arrayed, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18Pray in the Spirit at all times, with every kind of prayer and petition. To this end, stay alert with all perseverance in your prayers for all the saints.

Ephesians 6

We are going to be looking at all of the elements in the armor of faith in this blog, but most folks stop at verse 17. I think that’s a big mistake. Praying in the Spirit has empowered me to live godly. It has brought me great joy. The happiness that I found can’t be altered the situations in the world. Jesus has done for me what years of therapy could not accomplish.

A healthy prayer life is the key to living victoriously. I notice He says every type of prayer and petition. That means it’s OK to pray for the little stuff that we think is important. Take everything to him!

10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.

Ephesians 6:10

Before we came to the Lord, we didn’t have an enemy because we belonged to Him. Now we have an enemy. The greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. We are strong in the Lord because we have His mighty power!

I’m a child of God who has found joy and peace in Jesus, the King of the universe. He alone is worthy of all praise and glory. I’m a bivocational pastor and vegan who crochets and talks all things Jesus.
