When a Saint Passes

Some churches mistakenly call only certain people who have passed saints. This is not Biblical. Read the Bible for yourself and you will discover “To the saints” is a common salutation in the New Testament.

In memory of Fred.(1931-2021)

We all leave these flesh tents and go on
But when a saint passes there is no fear
His destination is a glorious city of love
Minus the pain, the strife and not even a tear.

Grace alone secures a place o’er yonder
But some saints give God their whole being
And care enough to bring Jesus to the least
Those who no one else was even seeing.

The word of God is for all people a rescue
Used by a saint who illuminated the dark
Exhaled peace, sowed and scattered joy to all
Take your leave now you’ve made your mark.

The seed you sowed the most expensive kind
The word of God is priceless but was a cost You made disciples and you were my voice
Well done faithful one you reached the lost.

Fred was my junior high teacher and a servant of God. He was the first person to plant a seed of the gospel in my life.

I’m a child of God who has found joy and peace in Jesus, the King of the universe. He alone is worthy of all praise and glory. I’m a bivocational pastor and vegan who crochets and talks all things Jesus.
