Did you ever hear bad things about a person that colored your opinion of them? Yep, me too. Someone told me so many negative things about his mother and then he told me glowing things about his father. When I finally met his mother, I had all these negative words in the back of my mind, so it didn’t start out as a good relationship.
But no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
James 3:8
No human contain the tongue but the Holy Spirit can. The thing is you can’t fake Holy Spirit. You either have it or you don’t. You’re either submitting to Him or you doing your own thing.
The poison that the tongue has kills many relationships and friendships. Just like the person told me negative things about his mother hurt that relationship; time proved the negative reports wrong. That person I mentioned earlier his mother ended up being a real sweetheart to me and the dad wasn’t as reported either.
Let the Holy Spirit control your tongue so that you don’t poison and kill a relationship. God wants to control all of you even your tongue.
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Every thought and word we need to keep captive and make it obedient to Christ! We can demolish arguments that way! Life is easier with a tongue under control.
