Worldview matters.

So like upward of 90% of Americans believe in God or some form of higher power. Only a small percentage of those Americans have a biblical worldview, and most espouse a secular worldview.

Secular world view has self or society as the authority for behavior. What the majority believe is correct behavior is what is right according to the secular worldview. I don’t believe that the Bible is the word of God or in authority on human behavior so using the Bible although it’s absolute truth may fall on deaf ears.

Worldview colors all other beliefs and behaviors. If there is no absolute truth then the secular person can do what society deems is OK or what they deem OK. They can “follow my heart” because they don’t believe the heart is wicked like the Christian does.

The secular world or teacher says be true to yourself. What if yourself says to hurt young children? Should you be true to that? Of course not!

The secular worldview includes the belief that we are evolving into a better society. They believe that the greater good will prevail and we will transform into an advanced collective where morality is somehow above that which we have now. The Biblical worldview is the opposite and sees us in a spiral downwards as the day of our Lord approaches.

How do you win someone that believes truth is relative and says my truth is different than yours? What is right for you may not be what I think is truth for me. Jesus said I am the truth and the life and the way and no man comes to the father but by me. John 8:32 christians know this to be absolute truth, but absolute truth are not part of the secular worldview.

Sometimes we may not have any other choice than to explain where we are coming from like I understand that your worldview includes XYZ belief, but I believe the Bible is the word of God and if I’m right the words in it are the authority for all people.

One thing that we hold in common as we all have a conscience. Use it. For training on how to do that see the link below.

The Conscience

Most people even though they present a hardened exterior have deep down in them a soft heart. Sometimes you have to dig for it. It may take a lot of work and you may get dirty.

Sometimes we think that the “good” people are easier to reach for Christ. Often, the reverse is true. The person that you think most unlikely to come to Christ is probably in God’s economy most likely to come to Christ.

Who most needs Jesus?

Pray for the person in your life that most needs Jesus and check out the training in the above link.
