Lone Ranger Christianity

God hasn’t called us to live the solitary Christian life. He wants us to be a spiritual family. When God became your Father you gained me as a sister. Actually you gained a whole big family. But some of you were acting like lone rangers.

The thing is if you belong to a big church and you show up on Sunday and then never have any contact with the church members until the following Sunday, that’s not a spiritual family. Family gets involved in each others’ lives. They do things together, they call each other and they love each other from the heart. If you’re saying see you next Sunday that’s not being part of a spiritual family.

In this Lone Ranger Christianity there’s no accountability. You can leave big church and go home to the person who you are living with who is not your spouse. You can go home and drink and do drugs. You can watch Jersey shores and be very carnal. Since you’re not part of a spiritual family, no one will know.

In a small church spiritual family, people know your business. Your life is open to inspection. If you start to stumble, someone is there to help you up.

So find a family. Find some good brothers and sisters. You need them and they need you.
