I’m not God, but if I were I probably wouldn’t. If I were going to come, I would need everyone to know about it in advance and I would expect people treat me with respect due to the Creator. My natural self doesn’t even comprehend the kind of humility the real God has. Yet He is in Heaven thinking about me. He has more thoughts about me than I have about Him.
So who is Jesus? People have pondered who He is for thousands of years. Most lists of famous historical figures put Him at the top. It wasn’t because He was a famous rabbi. It was the other stuff He did.
He claimed to be God. People who knew Him best claimed He was God.
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God.3All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4In him was life,a and the life was the light of men.
John 1:1-4
After the resurrection we read Thomas’ response:
Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
John 2:28
Peter believed He was God. In Matthew 7:21 the Greek for Lord is Κύριε. That is the same word Jesus uses for Lord in Matthew 11:25. He also called him the Christ.
Mark believed it. When the Sanhedrin asked Jesus if He was the Christ the response was clear!
62“I am,” said Jesus, “and you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Powerl and coming with the clouds of heaven.”m

Because of this language they tore their clothes and said blasphemy. I am was who God said, He was to Moses in the burning bush.
Luke tells the story of Jesus’s life best. He in detail describes the journeys and miracles of Jesus. But when he tells about it in Zachariah’s song it’s extremely clear.
Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come to his people and redeemed them
Luke 1:68
Matthew spent the first chapter of his book detailing the lineage of Jesus because the Jews of that day expected the Messiah to come through David.
Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us).

So 6 of the 12 clearly communicated to us in their books that Jesus was and is God. They were willing to die for this belief and all but John were martyred for their faith.
They also recorded what would happen before Jesus returned again. In a short time the world has become like the Bible said it would before He returned again. When I was born the world was so different. In my lifetime I have seen the world transform into to a world that is ready for the return of Jesus Christ.
Now is the time to get ready. Seek him with all your heart. Spend quantity and quality time with Him. Read the word diligently. Gather with other believers. Following Jesus Christ is a great adventure!
