Well…there are no old texts of the Book of Mormon. There is no documentary trail. It’s not a historical document. Where are the gold plates? The Bible does have a documentary trail. I’ve been to Hill Cumorah multiple times because that is my home county. I didn’t see that there.
The ancient coins the Bible mentions were actually found. No Nephite coins were found in excavations. Meso Americans didn’t use coins even.
The maps of the Bible include cities that have been around thousands of years and some of them have the same name still. There is archeological and historical records from the time period of the cities that were destroyed. There is evidence. Archeology doesn’t lie. The 30 main cities in the Book of Mormon include Nephi, Sidon, Manti and Bountiful. There is zero archeological or historical evidence for them. Archeologists claim it’s impossible for these cities to have existed and not leave something in the archeological record. There’s also no evidence of the people groups Nephites and Laminates. There IS evidence in archeology and history for the people groups in the Bible.
The 400 AD conquering of the Nephites by the Lamanites show no archeological evidence. This supposedly was a huge battle. Yet small battles in the Bible show up in the archeological record. Excavations show proof of existence. There are no skeletal remains for the 400 AD war. 200 million skeletons and the swords disappeared? It simply didn’t happen.
There is no historical record of the Mormon prophets. There is historical evidence for Biblical prophets. There is ancient historical evidence for Jesus. There is no evidence of Jesus in the new world.
The problems with the Book of Mormon are so abashedly apparent. It’s a fabrication of Joseph Smith that he presented to the world as the word of God. It’s a travesty. Nothing from the Book of Mormon can be substantstiated. It’s religious fiction according to archeological experts.
If the Book of Mormon was God’s word, then why does it say Jesus was born in Jerusalem?
It can’t be taken as truth.
