When this world started it was good, even God said it was good. Read Genesis 1 and 2.
What happened? Eating “the forbidden fruit” resulted in a fallen world with sin and all its problems. Did God cause the sin? Do we have the right to expect Him to swoop in like Superman and rescue every person from every sin? Who caused human suffering?
It is a serious mistake to blame God for every wrong thing or event that occurs in this world: elder and child abuse, rape, murder and all bad things come from the enemy. Maybe you should be asking why the enemy is such a jerk. We live in a sinful world with sinful people that do bad things. God doesn’t cause evil, so be angry at the one who does.
We are not robots. A father cannot make his children obey or love him. God will not force Himself on people we have to come freely.
God is obligated to be holy and just in his character, but on his time table and not ours. Sometimes he doesn’t intervene in a bad situation because there is some good that will come of it. Look what happened to Jesus! He gladly allowed it so that we could be saved.
He will charge every person according to what they have done. So to use examples of human suffering to keep you from repentance is not only unwise but it’s foolish.
People will gladly serve the evil one who is responsible for all human suffering while blaming the only one who can rescue someone from it.
“The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him.”
Nahum 1:7
A person who has not been rescued from a bad situation isn’t proof God doesn’t exist. God gives people strength to endure bad situations and rescues them from the bad situation in His, not our, timing. I’ve been in situations that were bad and sometimes it seemed like God was taking too long to answer me. It was because other things had to happen. I could only see that afterwards.
You’re not God; we don’t know everything!
People who have heard about Jesus will be without excuse. We are not in the remote jungles of the Amazon and how God reveals himself to them in dreams or in creation is his business to judge.
He is absolutely fair in his judgement and deals with each person on an individual basis according to what he has revealed to them.
When we stand before God, He is going to be fair. He’s also going to be just. You can pay for your sins. Or you can let someone else pay for your sins. But who would be that nice? Well we know someone like that. He’s your best friend you just don’t know it yet. If you’re reading this he’s reaching out to you right now! Run to Him!
