Recipe for an Acts 4:13 Life

Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus

Acts 4:13

Maybe you’re just an ordinary person. So am I, but people can tell when you walk with Jesus. It’s not about saying Hallelujah or God bless you. Jesus radiates out of his followers.

Starting your day right is important. It is so much better when you get your praise on. God inhabits the praise of his people. He loves your worship and it brings him pleasure.

3to console the mourners in Zion—to give them a crown of beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, and a garment of praise for a spirit of despair. So they will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.

Isaiah 61:3

Wear praise like a garment. Wrap yourself in it like a pair of comfortable jeans.

Prayer has to be a continuous lifestyle to live like acts 4:13. We’re not talking minutes we’re talking hours per day – He is worthy of our adoration. Is being with Jesus your top priority or spending time with others?

The Word of God brings faith. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. 15 minutes a day won’t cut it. The word has to be your lifeline to God. If you don’t build your faith you’re not gonna see miracles.

Holy living counts for something. If you’re not walking by the spirit and living holy your Christian walk is off course. If you are deliberately sinning, you are not a follower of Jesus- you are more of an admirer.

As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.

Psalms 18:44

Obedience is not optional activity in the Christian life. When He speaks, practice instant obedience. Either we’re crucified with Christ or living for self. Which are you dear reader?

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me

I’m a child of God who has found joy and peace in Jesus, the King of the universe. He alone is worthy of all praise and glory. I’m a bivocational pastor and vegan who crochets and talks all things Jesus.
