That’s what I told myself for years. He understands me and knows what I’ve been through and so he understands that I need this sinful relationship and this sinful habit.
I was wrong. There’s a reason why people sing Holy Holy Holy at church! The reason is God is holy. We can’t expect him to approve of our sin! It’s not gonna happen. What will happen is things in our life will start falling apart. Our health will suffer and will have more health problems than people our age. Did you know that all sickness is rooted in sin?
Sickness is from the enemy and God doesn’t send it! If you were chronically sick, check in with God. Ask him to reveal to you if you’re doing anything you shouldn’t. There are exceptions to sickness caused by sin. Some is part of a plan for God’s glory to be revealed.
You can’t make up a god that excuses your sin. That’s called idolatry and it puts you in a dangerous position. And we are in the season of his return to the earth and you don’t want to be caught in rebellion and be left behind because she will suffer much. Now is the time to repent. Seek God well you can still find Him!
Jesus loves you so much, that he came and put down his life for you. Don’t repay him by putting that boyfriend or girlfriend ahead of him. Don’t put that substance, that hobby or anything ahead of Him.
The church is being separated into two camps right now: real believers and the lukewarm.
15“‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! 16So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. 17For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked.
Revelation 3:15-17
THAT is what God understands. Get it? He is not happy about your sinful behavior. Repent! He offers mercy to you if you do.
19Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.20Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. 21The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’”
Come back to the God who formed you and gave Himself for you!
