Retail therapy or whatever you call it is a problem. Shopping is not therapy. Therapy is therapy.
The average American household has 300,000 items in it. Many households cannot utilize their garage because they have too much stuff stored in it. Even that’s not enough, they have to rent storage space. We have too much stuff. And we keep buying more.
How do you know someone has too much stuff?
- They have a two car garage, but only one car can fit in
- They have multiple storage sheds or they pay for offsite storage.
- They have credit card bills they can’t pay off because they always are buying things.
Whenever possible gift things that will help a person’s spiritual walk. Bibles, Christian music or something that will help get them on track with God’s plan is better than things that collect dust. If you receive a gift that you don’t like, simply be nice & honest about the gift and return it.
Think before you click on order now. Online shopping is too easy. Leave an item in the shopping cart while you think about whether you really need it or not.
The things of this world will pass away. The only thing that will remain is what you did for Jesus Christ.
