Most Christians never get to a place in their walk with Christ where they dwell in the secret place.
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Psalm 91:1
God’s love is meant to consume you; it’s not meant to whet your appetite. He wants you to seek Him individually with all your heart. When we are vulnerable before Him because we love Him and trust Him in private, the fellowship is personal.
Most people don’t like to be alone, but we need to be alone with Jesus. When we worship Him out of love and not just bringing Him a prayer list or a with a formulated prayer, then we are focusing on Him and not our needs.
If we fix our eyes on Jesus, we can enter then secret place which isn’t a place, but a position in Him.
We need Jesus. We are trained to rely on ourselves. Many of us are like that. We need to surrender to Him. Recognize that you need him so that He can change you in the secret place.
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
Hebrews 11:6
When we let go of our self sufficiency we can lean on the Holy Spirit. We can pursue Him fervently. Lord, give us eyes to see and ears to hear your voice.
God is looking for a people who hunger and thirst after Him and want to serve Him wholeheartedly and not out of compulsion. Change whatever you need to make Him your priority.
For we are glad when we are weak and you are strong. Your restoration is what we pray for
2 Cor 13:9
We want to walk in our strength but we need to walk in His strength. We have to die to self and let Him live in us. Flesh can’t be in the secret place. Our demands for justice, our hurts and our fears can’t enter the secret place. These can become blocks for us to enter the secret place. Unforgiveness and bitterness will also keep us out of the secret place. We can’t walk as natural people, but as spiritual people. It’s then that the fruit can manifest.
There was a deep price paid for you. The blood redeemed you. Cast off your cares, let go of them all. If you hold onto things you can’t receive the blessings He wants to put in your hands.
He is a big God. He knows your brokenness and He wants to heal you. He wants you to abide in the secret place. You will become powerful in Him after you have entered the secret place.
Be hungry and thirsty for Him. Come to Him all who are weary and heavy laden. He will give you rest. You have to do it every day though. How much do you want to press into Him?
He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
