Some people mistake being happy with God’s blessing. It’s not the same. Say you are living in sin, but you are happy. Is that blessing? Nope. When you are in sin, the devil leaves you alone (because your soul is already his), so you think you are happy. Happiness is temporary and it’s based on situation and the situation can change. The BF or GF can lose their job and suddenly your happiness vanishes. Things can vanish, houses can have disasters, and money can disappear quickly. When that happens your happiness goes poof.
Whan you try to get out of your sinful situation, suddenly the devil’s territory is threatened. You then are on his radar. He’ll begin to attack you to try to discourage you from walking holy. You can’t live without this drug, this person or this habit. It’s who you are the devil whispers. Remember that he lies! He is the father of lies and you CAN live without all that unholy junk.
The longer you walk with Jesus, the easier it becomes to live a holy life. You’ll get to the point, where the devil leaves you alone mostly. He’ll try to sneak in when you are tired or stressed but for the most part, it’s useless and he moves onto easier prey. When you are so immersed in His word and making it a habit to praise Him, devote time to prayer, the Spirit becomes so strong on you that it overflows onto others. You leak!
So that blessing looks like this: a river of joy flowing out of you. You don’t even realize you are happy because joy becomes normal. You have love for those who don’t love you back and you just want to bless them because of the love you have for them. You have peace, so much that even though the country is in turmoil, you don’t have anxiety. You get honor from your coworkers, neighbors and even strangers because of who you are. They sense something about you. The best part is you feel His presence and hear His voice. He’s honestly your best buddy. Your best buddy is King of the Universe. How cool is that?
Because He is your best buddy, you have some supernatural prayer power. You start checking things off your prayer list because he’s answering them. I love to see God do that!!! My old prayer journal is like a history book. God did this. God did that. Thank you Jesus!
You start to become like Him. His nature becomes your nature and you start to look like Him. Okay that’s really cool too. The sinful yucky in you starts to become a distant memory and you start looking like Jesus.
