Believer vs Christian

Believe it or not many Americans believe in God! They do when polled. See this poll! 2022, a whopping 81% of Americans believed in God. That was an 11% decrease from the year 2010 and that time. A lot of older Americans, who believed in God have since passed and been replaced by a younger generation which tends not to believe in God.

The younger generation will put their trust in practically everything, but God even they redefine what God is and think it’s themselves! The new age movement has gained popularity, and sucks in even the older generation with catchy phrases.

Want to know the secret?

Yeah, don’t even go there. It’s New Age. Rhonda Byrne is a new age teacher. The universe doesn’t have power; the creator of it does and he says in His word not to worship the creation. I had first-hand experience with that.

What about healing properties of stones? Been there done that too. That’s straight up witchcraft. Ascribing healing powers to rocks is misplaced faith. Rocks don’t have healing powers except by witchcraft. I repented of that; you can too! Only the Rock of the church has power.

What about chakras? Well, if you wanna open a portal to demons, go for it but I don’t. Everything related to Hindu is demonic, including yoga, which I used to do; suggesting a switch to Pilates and you don’t get the demons. Pilates is hard, but I’ve gained a lot of muscle and flexibility from it and it has no spiritual ties.

We believe anything these days; I know I did. I guess it’s because we’re living in the last days however, people still believe in God a whopping 81% which is much higher than you would expect, considering all of what’s on the news which I don’t watch.

So what’s the difference between a believer and a Christian? If you think they’re the same they’re not. A believer believes in God; a believer believes in Jesus in the Bible. Wait isn’t that a Christian? Nope!

A Christian has surrendered their will and every aspect of their life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ: their finances, their sexuality, their hobbies, their time, their personal lifestyle, and their purpose in life.

A believer reads the Bible and says yes this is true, but a Christian reads the Bible and applies it to their lives. It’s hard sometimes, but the reward is great. For example, giving up some thing you like can rob you of happiness, but then God turns around and gives you joy happiness is temporary joy is not, and it’s infectious.

So, dear reader, where are you today? Are you submitting everything to the Lord ship of Jesus Christ or are you still holding onto your crazy beliefs?

Father God, I pray for everyone reading this who is still hanging onto their crazy beliefs. I pray that they would renounce them and come under your lordship into a saving knowledge of you in Jesus’ name amen.

For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

Matthew 7:14

Be one of the few. Do you know the way? Jesus said I am the way the truth and the life and no man comes to the father except by Me. When you seek him with all your heart, you’ll find Him.

I’m a child of God who has found joy and peace in Jesus, the King of the universe. He alone is worthy of all praise and glory. I’m a bivocational pastor and vegan who crochets and talks all things Jesus.
