The Word of God is Powerful

The simplest peasant, armed with the Gospel is mightier than the Pope.

Martin Luther

Seriously, the gospel has power. The Word spoke this whole universe into existence. The Pope is a sinner in need of grace just like the rest of us. He can’t get to Heaven on his own merit; the cross is the only way.

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,

2 Tim 3:16

That Scripture was breathed out by God is significant. Those six words alone are huge. The authority of God is behind it. You can trust Scripture to never fail. It’s always right, always will be. Though culture may change, the Word of God does not. It is mighty that is why Luther said what he did. A peasant on his own isn’t mighty, but the Word of God+the peasant=a mighty force to be reckoned with.

So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

Isaiah 55:11

So speak the Word over your life, over your family, over your home, over your job, over friends, and over your circle of influence. It has power.

Meditate on it too.

I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

Psalm 119:11

If you are meditating on God’s Word it has the power to transform you and keep you from sin.

Stay in the Word, friends.
