What TV shows did you watch as a kid?

I hate TV. TV used to be a lot more wholesome when I was a kid. They showed husbands and wives in separate beds even. Right now I choose not to watch TV. I haven’t had TV service in years the only “TV“ program I’m watching right now is a crowd funded program called The Chosen. You can search for the app on the Google play or Apple, App Store and screen cast it to your smart TV. I do recommend this program as it is wholesome. It’s about the life of Jesus.

I can only imagine what Jesus thinks of our American culture right now. Everything that is written about the last days seems to be happening right now. One can’t help to think his return is imminent!

Let’s look at the list:

• Israel would be regathered as a nation. Check that off. 1948
• Men will be lovers of pleasure rather than God. That message is clear in music, film and social media.
• Information would abound. You’re probably reading this on a smart phone, which didn’t exist when I was young. We had to go to the library and look at a card catalog and then find the row where the book was.
• Earthquakes, pestilence, distress of nations. You can check all those off earthquakes and hurricanes have increased in frequency. There are new diseases popping up: Ebola, Covid, swine flu. Distress between nations is the norm now.
• The love of many will grow cold. This one makes me the saddest. This one is really difficult to see in our culture. Maybe it’s different in other countries, but this is certainly true in my neighborhood.
• Signs in the sun, moon and stars. I’m in a couple astronomy groups on Facebook and some really interesting things pop up there. You’ll have to Google it or join a group.
• Many would depart from the faith and follow doctrines of demons. You can also check this off the list. Hinduism has so many demons that you can’t even count them. Jehovah’s witness and Mormonism set the bill because on the outside they appear like the faith but once you get inside their books, it’s madness. So you can check this off the list too.

There are others, but I have to get to work. The world has gone mad and it sure seems like his return is soon.

If a whole bunch of Christians disappear off the face of the Earth, you can’t blame it to an alien abduction. The Bible says that when that happens, a world leader will arise doing miracles and wonders, and the whole world will follow him, but then some really bad events happen. Even during that time God still has mercy and will hear the cries of those who ask him for forgiveness.

Hear me, oh, Lord, for your lovingkindness is good; turn to me according to the multitude of your tender mercies.
