Not one but two

What daily habit do you do that improves your quality of life?

Bible reading and prayer improved my life significantly.

Let’s talk about prayer first. I’m not talking about reciting the Lord’s prayer or another prayer. All of those are great when done sincerely and to the right God. Most people just recite them without even thinking about them though. Muslims pray 5 times a day but to Baal Allah. So their prayers go unanswered.

Real prayer is communication with God. I’m talking about honest, open, raw communication like you would do with a husband or wife. God knows everything about you, so why try to hide things?

Prayers can be as simple as I love you Jesus. If you never heard from your children, you only got greeting cards from them with their name at the bottom, how would that make you feel? Will your father God like it if you just say the Lord’s prayer and never have a real open honest communication with him? Probably he’s not going to like it too much.

The Bible is a collection of 66 books but it’s more than a book. It’s a bunch of love letters to you. The Bible tells us about how mankind fell away from God, and how God planned to redeem us back in the Old Testament. And then in the New Testament, it tells how he accomplished that and how you can walk in it.

If you’re not reading the Bible daily, you’re missing out on the most important thing you’ll ever read. Just do it.

I’m a child of God who has found joy and peace in Jesus, the King of the universe. He alone is worthy of all praise and glory. I’m a bivocational pastor and vegan who crochets and talks all things Jesus.
