As a latchkey kid I had to learn a lot of things on my own. Some things I learned later after I got married and even after I divorced. You know Oscar Wilde said that experience is the name that we call our mistakes. Well, I had an experience with pumpkin cheesecake. And it had to be scrapped.

It was the first time doing this recipe, and I didn’t read through it very well, and I was young and arrogant. I mixed everything for the topping in with the batter for the pumpkin cheesecake. There was no fixing this stupid mistake. You can’t fix stupid. Lol.
Even though it was a holiday, the supermarket was open; I had to buy all the expensive ingredients over again. I learned to love following a recipe. People don’t like to be told what to do, but directions are useful.
The best directions of all can be found in the Bible. The Bible is a blueprint for our life – which is much more expensive than the ingredients for a pumpkin cheesecake. Stick to the plan. Read the Bible until you take the message deep down in to your soul. Do that even when it’s uncomfortable.
God knows best what is good for your life and what is bad for your life. He’s not going to steer you wrong.
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Psalm 119:105
The Bible lights the way should go. Follow it and trust the author. He never fails.
For the gracious hand of God was upon him. This was because Ezra had determined to study and obey the law of the Lord, and to teach these decrees and regulations to the people of Israel.
Ezra 7:9b-10
