What does it mean to be a kid at heart?
I can answer what it means to me, but I don’t know how helpful that is to other people.
I think it’s more helpful to know what God says about it.
13Now people were bringing the little children to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them, and the disciples rebuked those who brought them.
14But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and told them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15Truly I tell you, anyone who does not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” 16And He took the children in His arms, placed His hands on them, and blessed them.
Mark 10
The kingdom of God = Jesus being Lord over your life.
Jesus is saying we can’t receive Him unless we humble ourselves in child- like dependence on his mercy. If we are a child, we know our fathers will forgive us. If we are adults we have to have that same child-like dependence upon him and faith in His word to know He will forgive us.
No one comes into the kingdom with a haughty attitude.
I think that truth is displayed in the Bible many times. If you want to do a word study, humility is a great word to do it on.
In the back of your Bible is a concordance which is like an index of Bible words. Search for the word humility and read all the related scriptures. I will do that soon.
Father God, give everybody reading this, the childlike humility to receive the kingdom of God. In Jesus name amen.
If you are still reading this, I think the secular definition of kid at heart means you appreciate the simple things kids appreciate like tossing a ball or flying a kite.
Blessings dear reader.
