Self care?

How do you practice self-care?

I’m not the center of my world. The new emphasis on selfishness promotes itself as self care.

Sure I do the hygiene necessities and occasionally visit the gym and salon, but putting me at the center of my world isn’t the point. I spend time in God’s word that helps ground me to what’s important.

I can’t get on board with the new self care movement. I’ll leave that to people who choose to.

I’m a child of God who has found joy and peace in Jesus, the King of the universe. He alone is worthy of all praise and glory. I’m a bivocational pastor and vegan who crochets and talks all things Jesus.

    1. Great question. It is but it’s something I do without thinking and I don’t obsess about it. The hyper focus of self care causes people to put themselves first. Example: a mom spending 200$ on a keratin treatment for her hair while the kids need new shoes. Or a man spending 1000$ on a new gaming monitor when he’s not given a dollar to promote God’s work. I fit what I can in, do my own keratin treatment, and bless as many people as I can with what’s left over. It’s not all about me. Jesus first. Others second.
