Of course it’s a carb

What’s your go-to comfort food?

People love carbs. I love carbs. I totally, don’t avoid them. I eat them in moderation except when I don’t.

I make bread. I don’t make any bread. I make sourdough.  Making sourdough is an art.

I never have made injeera before, but i’m going to. That’s an Ethiopian sourdough made with teff flour.

When I lived in the Middle East, bread was always on the table. A meal wouldn’t be complete without it.

That’s why Jesus said, “I am the bread of life.”

Just like a meal in the Middle East need bread. We need Jesus for sustenance and for life.

If your life is missing Jesus, then it’s missing a critical element for doing life God’s way. Worshiping a statue of Jesus or putting words behind his name is not a personal relationship with God. He wants to be so enmeshed in your life that you never forget him.

Part of life in the middle east is going to the bread store and continually, refreshing your bread supply. There’s no preservatives in the bread, so you have to eat it right away and go back again.

That’s what Jesus wants to be in your life- a continual supply of nourishment. He wants to permeate your life so that you spill out on others. He wants that none should perish, but that all should have everlasting life.  He wants to put his spirit in you so that you feel joy and peace. This is an abundant life.

Are you ready for the bread of life to change your life?
