Do you spend more time thinking about the future or the past? Why?
Annie, the musical opened when I was a kid. There’s a famous song in it. “Tomorrow tomorrow I love you tomorrow. You’re always a day away.”
Dwelling on the past is unproductive unless it’s in a therapy situation, and you’re trying to heal from past wounds.
It’s good to prepare for the future. And it’s wise to do so, but what’s good for us just to focus on the present.
I ask God, what can I do for you today? Hook me up with people I can help. Who can I share God’s love with today?
But my heart yearns for the future. Well, there’s a time coming when there will be no more tears and no more sorrow.
‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[a] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
REVELATION 21:4
I long for that day when I will see Jesus face to face and his love will envelop me like a warm blanket. I feel that love now as I write this. His love is better than anything that could be gift wrapped. No one loves us more than God.
Know that the person on this Earth who loves you the most doesn’t even come close to the love that God has for you.
Are you in love with Jesus?
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
John 15:13
He’s already done it for you. He’s waiting for you to love him back.
