Mirror neurons are brain cells that activate both when we perform an action and when we observe someone else performing it.

Never heard of them? neither had I. They were first discovered in the 1990s by Italian neurophysiologists studying macaw monkeys. It was later discovered that humans have them too.
Basically every time we see something in the brain we take a snapshot and store it in our brain and respond according in the future based on the stored images we have taken. So if we see someone helping others a lot we will likely repeat that behavior. Conversely if a young man sees his dad beat his mom that image is stored and may repeat that behavior. This. reminds me of a verse in the Bible.
Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”
1 Corinthians 15:33
Who you hang around matters. Even if it’s an online community, you may want to rethink who you are spending time with. If they are not bringing you closer to God, or at the very least, encouraging you when you draw near to God, they may be people you need to cut out of your inner circle of friends.
We are still to reach out to the lost and befriend them; we are to be a light to them. They should not become our inner circle though.
Wrong relationships can lead you into battles God never assigned to you
