False doctrines abound and weak women fall to them.
Below is a list of false doctrines and practices that are prevalent in Christendom today. Be vigilant and evaluate everything against Scripture before evaluating with your heart. What feels right, might not be right.
Scripture is always the final authority – not society. Many times society will contend that the Christian is not enlightened, modern or intelligent because what he or she believes doesn’t mesh with society’s standard. Below are examples.
Contemplative prayer – a mantra like “prayer” practice. This new age practice mixes a lot of slick truth (make time for God and throw in scripture to seal the deal) in with its occult practice.
Ecumenism – universal Christian unity and cooperation among denominations.
Egalitarianism- men and women have the same roles in the church without respect to gender. All believers have equal responsibility and authority in the church without respect to gender.
Emergent church-progressive church that believes in building bridges to biblical Christianity but retain practices such as contemplative prayer and mysticism. Eugene Patterson the developer of the message “Bible” came out of the emergent church.
Enneagram-analysis of personality with occult roots.
IF gathering-women’s conference out of the emergent church movement. Emphasis not on corporate worship and personal Bible studies.
Inclusivism-you don’t have to be a Christian to be saved.
Limited theism-denial of God’s omnipotence
Modalism -teaches the Trinity us not one God in three persons; one mode exists at a time.
Oneness Pentecostalism – You must speak in tongues to be saved
Pelagianism-denial of original sin
Prayer circle- draw a circle on the ground and step into it to pray=straight up witchcraft.
Prosperity gospel – God is like a genie in a bottle waiting to give us our desires.
Third wave movement- the gospel alone isn’t enough; it must be accompanied by signs and wonders.
