What book could you read over and over again?

I read through the Bible every year. I start on January 1 and end on December 31. Each year I learn new things because it is a book that has a life of its own. There are layers of complexity in it that will take more than my lifetime to understand, but that’s okay.

Other than cookbooks and the Bible there is no other book I would read more than once. The Bible alone holds the key to living a joyful and abundant life.

Without the Bible, we stumble in life. we believe crazy things. some people believe that if a cardinal comes to visit your porch or window that it’s a relative who has died. It’s simply not biblical or true. That is dictionary.com’s third definition of divination- a sin.

People believe the wrong thing and don’t believe the right thing-God comes to dwell in us. The Holy Spirit is a precious gift from God. When a person is born again, God himself comes to live inside your spirit and help you teach you comfort you.

How do you know that you have the Holy Spirit? The Bible tells us how! That’s why we need to read it! The words in it are from God and they’re to you on how to find a relationship with God.

• God speaks to us through the Bible.
• We must repent. Jesus said this many times in the Bible.
• We need to ask God to forgive our sins.
• We should believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and on his death, and resurrection to provide a payment for our sin.
• We need to confess with our mouths that Jesus Christ is Lord.
• We should get baptized. It’s an obedient act to show that we are following Jesus.

Being born again, is a spiritual thing. When we come to the point in our life, where we realize we need God, and that he alone can forgive our sin, we are close to the kingdom of God. When we ask, God sincerely to live in us, believing on the name of his son, we can be born again. His spirit gives us new life and all the old things pass away.

Jesus brings joy to a life. He brings peace and love. Other religions say do this and do that but when you follow Jesus, it is faith alone they get you saved. God knew we couldn’t atone for our sins by ourselves. We’re not good people. We have bad thoughts every day. That’s why Jesus died on the cross. He paid the debt for our sin. Then he gives you a present on top of that: the Holy Ghost.

When you sincerely pray to God, asking Jesus to be lord, of your life, you get the best present of all. He comes into your life and changes you to be like him. You lose a taste for sin. It becomes easier to live a holy life.

16For God so loved the world that He gave His one and onlye Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. 18Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

John 3:16-18

Pray something like this but using your own words:

Father, forgive me, I have sinned against you. Forgive me of all the ________. (List as much as you can remember-lying, cheating, greed dishonoring parents, hate, sloth, sex outside marriage, lust, pornography, gluttony). I am sorry for all this and believe with all my heart that God raised Jesus from the dead to pay for my sins. I ask you to come into my life and change me through the power of your Holy Spirit. Please be Lord of my life in Jesus’ name amen.
