Clap twice, bow twice

What’s the most interesting local custom you’ve encountered?

Shinto religion in Japan is often mistaken for Buddhist religion. There are an infinite number of gods in the shinto religion and they clap twice to get the gods’ attention at the shinto temples in Nikko, Japan. And they bow twice to show respect.

They write down their prayers on tablets and hang them. The priests consecrate the prayers and burn them.

I feel sad that people who practice this are far from knowing the true God. I pray that God will show up big time in japan and that there will be a big revival there.

I understand being duped. I was duped for many years. I knew about God and even Jesus, but I didn’t know him personally.

Christians believe in a triune God. One God manifests in 3 persons. People outside christianity confuse it for polytheism. It’s not. The Father and I are one Jesua said. It’s the great mystery of how 1+1+1=1. Water can exist as frozen, liquid or steam so why can’t God have three ways to manifest?

Holy Spirit is amazing. HE exists and lives inside the spirit of each true believer. Many believers say and think they are Christians because they are church attendees.

The proof of regeneration is repentance and fruit.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Galatians 5:22-23

I pray that you will be blessed with fruit and that Holy Spirit’s presence in your life will shine like a floodlight.

I’m a child of God who has found joy and peace in Jesus, the King of the universe. He alone is worthy of all praise and glory. I’m a bivocational pastor and vegan who crochets and talks all things Jesus.
