Good people, bad people.

What does it mean to be a good person?

We all like to think we are good. Most people think they are good people. A lot of people who who don’t think they are justify their behavior by comparison to others or by playing a victim card.

They will tell you they have kept the 10 commandments and stayed out of legal trouble. But if you are going to use legality, you run into an issue: a lot of things that are legal are morally reprehensible.

If you are going to use comparison then who is the standard? Mother Theresa? Ghandi? Or Jesus?

If Jesus is the comparison then we all fall short. We all don’t measure up to Him.

The good news is: he paid the price. He is the payment coupon for your sin. But you have to accept the gift. You have to ask him for this gift and receive him as Lord and Savior.

When you do this he transform you into a good person. Your new life looks much different and sin no longer has the appeal that it did.

If you are trying to figure out if this is true, ask God to show you if Jesus is the only way to Him. See what happens.
