What’s one thing you wish you had started doing earlier in life?
I have a friend who wants to be a pastor. Her father was a pastor. Her grandfather was a pastor. The blessings have just been passed on. The blessings of prayer.
And seeing God’s hand work in the lives of people around you.
I didn’t have that I had generational curses that I had to break. I don’t even want to speak about the sins of my parents and grandparents but I do want to say that I wasn’t passed on the beautiful legacy of faith like my friend has.
I wish I had started following Jesus earlier. I went to a baptist church and they are good about getting people “saved”. However most baptist churches produce false converts. A true convert stops sinning and draws near to God.
There are people and church every Sunday in suits and ties and fancy dresses and hats that don’t really know Jesus well, some bikers with leather vest and tattoos truly depend on Jesus.
A righteous life shows if you follow Jesus. You can’t stay in sin. Bible reading in a prayer life are good, but those alone don’t show a relationship with Jesus. The absence of bible reading shows no relationship with God. Because you can’t not go to him and say you love him at the same time. You’re pretending with yourself.
I did that for years. True relationship with God’ starts their with the word of God. Fakers don’t.
We are instructed to turn from godless, living in sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world, with wisdom, righteousness and devotion to god. While we look forward with hope to that wonderful day. When the glory of our great God and savior Jesus Christ will be revealed.
