What’s a book or movie that genuinely scared you?
I no longer watch secular movies. They can be scary, but there’s many issues with the entertainment industry that has caused me to separate from them. I also don’t want to support them financially.
As far as books, the one that scares me most is the Bible. The words in red are the words you should really pay attention to, but they’re also the most frightening.
22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
Matthew : 22-23
In this passage, people who were prophesying and casting out demons who called Jesus Lord were going to be told something really scary: depart from me. If jesus was talking to the world, it would be less scary, but he was talking to the church. People who thought they were in Christ actually weren’t. Ouch. At that point, it will be too late.
This is scarier than any Stephen King novel which calls for a suspension of disbelief. This is real life.
I have to examine myself and my walk regularly to make sure I’ll be told well done good and faithful servant.
